Testing…Testing

I’ve been SO out of sorts the past few weeks – I don’t THINK I was ever tagged to do this, but I KNOW I stumbled across it on Kris’ Boston Book Reader blog and it looks like so much fun!

I’ve been pretending I’m serious about doing #blogmas, which I REALLY want to, but I failed to post on the first and will just miss the deadline for day two. I’m pushing myself to go against my nature and continue working toward doing the best #blogmas I can, regardless of the fact that I’m not posting until day three.

I’m one of those people who is basically all-or-none – I either do things the RIGHT way in the RIGHT timeline, or I just give up/never start. I’m making the first big change in my recent life by working toward eliminating that damn all-or-none thinking!

Anyway, that was enough of a tangent – on with the tag!

The Rules

  • Thank the person who nominated you and add a link to their blog
  • Answer the questions asked on this post
  • Nominate at least five people to do it also
  • Let your nominees know you’ve nominated them

Top Three Bookish Pet Peeves

  • Disliking a hyped book – intensely
  • LIKING a hyped book – intensely
  • The dreaded DNF

Top Three Book Confessions

  • When I’m in my right mind, I have a book with me EVERYWHERE, even if it’s just on my iPhone Kindle app
  • I love bookmarks, but they get on my nerves at the same time
  • I judge books by their covers

Last Time I Cried Reading a Book

I don’t remember the last time a book itself made me cry – I’m sure I’ve cried about something real while reading recently.

Number of Books on My Bedside Table

Well, there are no books on my bedside table; however, there are at least five books behind it – they all fell off a few days ago! I know one is Stephen King’s The Stand, a few are graphic novels, and my Kindle is probably back there too.

Favorite Reading Snack

I’m biting the bullet and outing myself – cigarettes.

Three Books I’d Recommend to Anyone

A Picture of My Bookshelf

I legit thought this category’s title was “a picture of myself,” so, since my books are slung everywhere and do not live on a bookshelf anyhow, here’s a picture of myself! LMFAO!

Here I am in all my glory as I type this post – I really wanted y’all to see my hair! LOL!

How Much Books Mean to Me

BOOKS ARE EVERYTHING – there is literally way too much I could say here – I don’t feel like typing all night!

Biggest Reading Secret

I am now a cozy mystery LOVER – but I used to totally be uppity about them…

    • Aw! Thanks so much, Shawn! I had a blast with this tag! Thanks a bunch for liking my hair! I recently got it chopped back off and it’s so wonderful and easy! 😀

  1. I loved reading your answers Maggie! I like that these tags give the opportunity to get to know each other better.

    • Thanks a bunch, Linda! I totally agree – tags are such amazing ice breakers and help us find little things we have in common!

  2. Nicole @ Boundless Bookaholic Reply

I tried watching the Anna Karenina movie, but I just couldn’t. Not sure if I’d like the book. Thanks for the tag.

    • You’re welcome, Nicole! I understand about the Anna Karenina movie; I like it, but it doesn’t hold a candle to the book. There’s just something about AK that sucks me in!

  3. Diana @ The Bookish Sisters Reply

Thanks for tagging us, Maggie!! I love this tag and I can’t wait to do it!! 🙂

  4. You are the reason i want to read Anna Karenina!! I will pick it up someday. For right now, its just a bit daunting because of its size.

    • I totally understand – I was scared to death of AK until I finally just picked it up; then I didn’t want it to end! LOL! I need to reread it soon!

  5. Loved reading your answers! I also judge books a lot more from the cover than I should but that’s how we all do right?!

    • Thanks so much, Dorka! I think everybody HAS to be at least a little judgy about book covers! LOL!

  6. This was such a fun read! I also hate it when I dislike a Hyped book because I feel like I’m missing out on something special.

    • I so agree about missing out when I don’t like a hyped book – I even worry if I’m just too weird to even understand the book and its greatness! LOL! Being on the outside looking in is certainly no fun when there’s a fandom…

I’M the Same, I have to do something right or not do It at all! I loved Of Mice And Men, one of my fave childhood reads. You’re doing great Mags!! 😙💖

  8. Amazing tag! I love getting to know all my blogging friends better! Love you Maggie keep up the excellent work!!

    • Aw! I love you too, Kris! I love doing tags and learning about my people through their tags too! 😀
